The Centre for Advanced Management Education (CFAME) delivers sector- specific graduate programs for Dalhousie´s Faculty of Management. These degree programs are designed for working professionals and offered in a blended delivery format that minimizes in-classroom time and maximizes on-line learning:
* MBA(NR) – This program will be launched in 2009-2010 pending academic approval
The context for each degree program is very specific in terms of the sector and the audience it will serve; however, at the core of each learning experience is enhanced leadership skills. Professionals in each of these programs develop advanced critical analysis and decision-making skills, and deepen their understanding and ability to have positive impact in managerial and client service roles.
The programs are offered primarily through distance learning, but each one includes a valuable in-classroom component where students benefit from one-on-one interaction with top-notch educators and a network of sector-wide professionals. The on-site course elements are offered in Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Calgary or Halifax, dependent on the program of study as well as the specific schedule for the academic term in question.
All courses are administered using the latest technology and are taught by award-winning professors within a framework that values academic standards as highly as relevancy to industry/sector realities and concerns.
"The program offered a challenging curriculum that had enough flexibility through the self-study portion that allowed me to shift the workload in accordance with my work demands and timelines."
"The Dal MBA has helped me become more strategic in my approach to achieving set objectives and resolving challenges. It has also helped me become more observant of variables within the environment that can influence the content and context of how I can deliver on objectives. I value it because it not only symbolizes the hard work I had to put into it; it was also relevant to my immediate and future career in the financial services industry."
