To be admitted to the MBA (Financial Services) Program, you must have earned the FLMI designation from LOMA with a minimum average grade of 80 per cent. Applicants must have a degree recognized by Dalhousie University as equivalent to an undergraduate degree, with an equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 (on a 4.3 scale). Applicants must also have at least five years experience in the financial services industry at the appropriate management level.
LOMA and Dalhousie University have made arrangements to facilitate the application process. At your request, LOMA will send Dalhousie an official transcript that you have earned the FLMI, along with your average scores.
Please note that the FLMI courses listed below are the requirements as of January 2011 for completing LOMA’s FLMI Program. If you received the FLMI designation at a time when the curriculum requirements were different than those listed below, you are still eligible to apply for admittance into the MBA (Financial Services) Program. If the FLMI curriculum changes in the future to accommodate changes in the financial services industry, then an FLMI designation earned under the new curriculum will also be eligible for admittance to the MBA (Financial Services) program.
*Please note that all of the FLMI courses except the following are now available only through Course Portals: Business Law for Financial Services Professionals, Business Law for Financial Services Professionals (Canada), Investment Principles and Institutional Investing.
